Install AOKP For Android 4.4.2 on Galaxy S3


The AOKP team had finally released the official Android 4.4.2 platform and now more and more Android based devices can be installed with the same firmware. If you own the Samsung Galaxy S3 phone and want to update to latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS ahead of official OTA roll out.

The reasons for updating your Verizon / T-Mobile / AT&T / US Cellular / International Samsung Galaxy S3 with Android 4.4.2 KK based AOKP custom ROM firmware. But before heading to the proper flashing procedure, you first have to learn how to prepare your device. 


How to Install AOKP Android 4.4.2 on Galaxy S3

1.First download the AOKP firmware file and the Google apps package.

2.Google apps from here, while for the Android 4.4.2 update file use one of the following links: for the Verizon Galaxy S3 model go here; for AT&T use this page; if you own the US Cellular SGS3 get the file from here; for International version use this link and for T-Mobile go here.

3.Save these files on your computer and you can place the files on desktop (don’t unzip).

4.connect your phone with the computer by plugging in the USB cable.

5.Up next transfer the downloaded files from desktop on your phone’s SD card.

6.Unplug the USB cable as the computer is no longer useful.

7.Turn off your device.

8.Enter the Galaxy S3 in recovery mode.

9.From there first select “wipe” data factory reset and “wipe” cache partition.

10.Choose “advance” and pick “wipe dalvick cache”.

11.Up next select “install zip from SD card” followed by “choose zip from SD card”.

12.Pick the AOKP firmware file and flash.

13.Repeat the procedure and install Google apps package on your phone.

14.Finally from main menu of recovery select “reboot system now” and you are done.

15.Congratulations; you have installed AOKP
